* Ann-Margret was a cheerleader at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois.
* She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

* Ann-Margret was discovered by actor/comedian George Burns when he heard her sing in a campus musical at Northwestern University. In 1960 he hired her to be a part of his Vegas act.

* In 1961 she made her first film appearance in "Pocketful of Miracles".

* Throughout the 90's, Ann-Margret appeared in a number of quality made for TV movies.  

* In 1993 Ann-Margret becomes the object of affection opposite comedy legends Jack Lemmon & Walter Matthau in the hit comedy "Grumpy Old Men". She also reprised her role in the sequel "Grumpier Old Men" (1996).

* In 1994 she published her autobiography &  in 1995 she was chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history, ranking 10th.

* In August 2000, she suffered 3 broken ribs & a fractured shoulder when she was thrown off a motorcycle she was driving in Minnesota, US.
