"Serendipity" is a charming romantic comedy that is raised a level due to the likeable performances of the two leads, John Cusack & Kate Beckinsale. Jonathan Trager (John Cusack) meets Sara Thomas (Kate Beckinsale) whilst Christmas shopping in New York City. Their brief meeting turns into romance but the two decide to let fate be the deciding factor in their love. Where the two lovers destined to meet or was it simply chance? Many Years later while both are engaged to their respective partners fate begins to play its part. John Cusack puts in a solid performance as usual, plus look out for Eugene Levy of "American Pie" fame in a scene- stealer as the shop assistant in the New York department store. "Serendipity" was made on a budget of $28 million & has already grossed over $50 million in the US. Although predictable, romantics at heart will enjoy this old-fashioned tale about destiny & love.
