"Original Sin" is a sizzling erotic thriller set in Cuba in the late 1800's, starring Spanish sensation Antonio Banderas & John Voight's little girl Angelina Jolie. The film features fine cinematography & makes good use of exotic locations. An appropriate Cuban soundtrack adds to the atmosphere.
Antonio Banderas plays a wealthy coffee merchant who calls for an American mail-order bride. She arrives in the form of femme fatale, Angelina Jolie. After Banderas marries her, his life takes a turn for the worst & he will never be the same again. He gets entangled in a web of lies, deceit, betrayal, lust, sex & murder all in the name of love.
What helps the film is the quality cast; Banderas is excellent in his role as the emotionally wrought husband while Academy Award winning actress Angelina Jolie seductively steams up the screen. Deep Blue Sea's Thomas Janes is effective in a creepy role while ageing Australian actor Jack Thompson notches up another brief appearance in a major Hollywood Film. "Original Sin" is an entertaining suspense thriller that should appeal to Banderas & Jolie fans.
