"Mr. Deeds" Cinema Synopsis:
When Deeds inherits controlling interest in a media corporation from his deceased uncle, he's quickly besieged by opportunists gunning for their piece of the pie. When Babe, a television tabloid reporter posing as an innocent small-town girl, is sent to do an expose on Deeds, she instead feels herself falling in love.

"Mr. Deeds" is a remake of Frank Capra's 1936 Gary Cooper classic "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town". Adam Sandler stars as Longfellow Deeds, a small-town pizzeria owner and wannabe greeting card writer, who inherits $40 billion from his deceased uncle. When Deeds goes to the Big Apple to collect his inheritance all sorts of obstacles stand in his way including ruthless business executive Chuck Cedar (Peter Gallagher) and tabloid reporter Babe Bennett (Winona Ryder). Look out for Steve Buscemi as Crazy Eyes and tennis star John McEnroe (playing himself) in small cameo roles. At the 2002 Teen Choice Awards "Mr. Deeds" won the award for "Choice Movie Of The Summer". "Mr. Deeds" was made on a budget of $50 million and has gone on to gross over $123 million at the U.S. box office. If you have enjoyed Adam Sandler's previous films you are sure to like this light-hearted offering.
