After the death of her father, 15-year-old Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) discovers that she is in fact a princess & heir to the throne of a small European country known as Genovia. She must now decide whether to accept her newfound role as a member of royalty or continue her life as a San Francisco teenager. Anne Hathaway, in her film debut, looks the part as the young princess & Julie Andrews, as her grandmother puts in an outstanding performance adding class to this light-hearted romantic comedy.

"Pretty Woman" director Gary Marshall has hit the jackpot again. "The Princess Diaries" was made on a budget of $30 million dollars & grossed over $106 million at the US box office. Also, look out for "Pretty Woman's" Hector Elizondo in another admirable performance as the princess's chauffeur.
