"Just One Of The Guys" Video Case Synopsis :
Terry's 18, she's adorable, good-looking and popular. But to enter a journalism competition, she has to change schools - and change sex! In the course of her charade, she finds that life, as a boy is more complicated than she bargained for. Joyce Hyser is stunning as Terry the girl, hilarious as Terry the guy. After taking lessons in male behaviour from her sex-starved brother, watch how she survives a strip-down basketball game and the rigours of the boys' locker room. So convincing is her transformation that she has top escape the clutches of a gorgeous redhead who takes her 'macho' charms too seriously. Being "Just One Of The Guys" turns Terry's world and everyone else's - on its head and gives a comical new meaning to role reversal.

Tony's Comments :
"Just One Of The Guys" is "Tootsie" in reverse for the teen crowd. Joyce Hyser is excellent in her role as Terry, the girl who disguises herself as a boy in order to enter a journalism competition. Joyce Hyser is stunning when playing the girl and has an uncanny resemblance to Sandra Bullock but when playing the guy she reminds you of a young Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid) and is very convincing in the role. The blonde headed creep of "Karate Kid" fame William Zabka is back in this film and once again playing a tough school bully. But it is Billy Jacoby (sometimes credited as Billy Jayne) that almost steals the film as Joyce Hyser's younger brother Buddy. He is the ultimate sex-maniac, a randy young man with a sharp tongue. He plays the role to perfection and could be described as the long lost cousin of Bud Bundy, from TV's "Married with Children". At the "Young Artist Awards" in 1986, "Just One Of The Guys" was nominated for Best Family Motion Picture, Best Actress Joyce Hyser and Best young actor Billy Jayne. "Just One of The Guys" is an entertaining teen comedy and is certainly above average for its type.
