In 1933 the eighth wonder of the world "King Kong" was presented to cinema audiences for the first time ever in glorious black & white. The stop-motion ape sequences engineered by special effects genius Willis O'Brien are outstanding to say the least and are just as eye-catching as today's more sophisticated computer generated effects. The exciting finale atop of New York's Empire State Building with Kong clutching Fay Wray in his hand, while being attached by aircrafts, is one of cinema's most memorable moments. Many sequels and imitations followed and the original "King Kong" was even remade in 1976 with Jeff Bridges & Jessica Lange in the lead roles, but the 1933 Fay Wray version is still yet to be equaled. "King Kong" is a landmark film in the "Creature Feature" genre.

This essential addition to any collection is divided into two parts: "The Story of King Kong," which contains dialogue, sound effects and the score; while "King Kong Music Suite" adds nine previously unreleased tracks.
