* The Lord of the Apes returns to the jungle to save the heart of civilization from the forces of evil.
"Tarzan & The Lost City" is the latest big screen version of the legendary king of the jungle. This time round Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) puts on the famous loincloth. At the beginning of this story we are presented with a fully clothed Tarzan living a civilian life. As the story unfolds Tarzan is summoned, on the eve of his wedding, to return to his African homeland to save it from total destruction.

"Tarzan & The Lost City" plays out like a sequel to the critically acclaimed Christopher Lambert classic "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan Lord of The Apes". Unfortunately, "Tarzan & The Lost City" does not measure up to its predecessor; it was made on a smaller budget & simply lacks the authenticity & realism of "Greystoke".  Casper Van Dien is athletic enough & looks good in the role but the film lacks a polished script & plays more like a TV pilot than a big-screen adventure. Nevertheless, "Tarzan & The Lost City" is an enjoyable romp & a lot fun in a low-budget campy sort of way. Tarzan fans & children should still get enough entertainment out of this one to keep happy.
