Training Day is a dark brooding cop film, brimming with violence & powerhouse performances. Denzel Washington stars as Alonzo Harris, a tough, foul-mouthed narcotics cop with unscrupulous methods. Ethan Hawke plays honest rookie cop Jake Hoyt. Hawke is assigned to Denzel for a "Training Day". This day will determine whether Hawke can stomach being a fully-fledged narcotics officer.

Hawke is concerned with making the streets a better place & wiping out the drug scene. He has a wife & young child. Washington puts Hawke through hell & back in a day he will never forget. In no time at all Hawke's character begins to question the reason he joined the police force in the first place.

Tough guy Scott Glenn is excellent in a small but memorable support role. Also look out for rap star Snoop Doggy Dog as a wheel chair bound drug dealer.

The gritty violent ending sees Washington & Hawke come head to head in a chilling finale. At times unpleasant but nevertheless riveting, "Training Day" is a no holds barred, bullets a blazing, cop thriller.
