"Rebel Without A Cause" on DVD:
Starring James Dean
James Dean, the quintessential rebel became a symbol to the younger generation after his intense performance as the troubled teenager (Jim Stark) in "Rebel Without A Cause".

Dean's touching & exciting portrayal of the misunderstood teen is complemented by the sensitive performances of fellow co-stars Sal Mineo & Natalie Wood. Both Mineo & Wood were nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor & Best Supporting Actress respectively.

Wood was only 15 years old when shooting began, while Dean was a mature 24 years, maybe a little too old to be playing a high school student. Also look out for a young Dennis Hopper in a supporting role as a gang member.

This powerful film deals with the conflicts that exist between young teens & the middle-class values of their parents. Young audiences from around the world identified with these themes during the 50's & continue to do so today.

James Dean "The first American Teenager" starred in just 3 films. "Rebel Without a Cause" became his most famous film, turning him from a star into an American Legend. Dean's image from this film has become a symbol of rebellious youth & can be seen on bedroom walls, cafes, diners & souvenir shops around the world. Also the famous chicken run drag race scene in which Dean's character escapes has been reproduced in numerous motion pictures since.

"Rebel Without A Cause" is a landmark film, one which always ranks highly in "Top 100 Lists". It is a masterpiece & should not be missed. Any serious film collection would be incomplete without it.
